BIOGRAPHY

My inspiration comes from the natural world
I trained in art and design and have been a teacher of art and craft for the best part of my working life.
I taught in mainstream and Waldorf schools with children of all ages and those with learning difficulties.
Painting is now my occupation since retiring from teaching.
I have peace in my little house on the hill, watching the sun rise and set from my windows.
I have a strong contemplative side, painting for me evokes, the timeless realm so the hours that pass lead me into a space not of this world. I can paint and draw from life, objective reality and my imagination.
I use what I see and find inspiration sometimes like magic arriving all by itself. As an intuitive person a lot of my images need unpacking and can be a reaction to what I have experienced.
I have worked in mixed media and have even used plaster textiles, wool and driftwood. My work is very varied, sometimes objective and detailed and other times rather loose and undefined.
I am frequently reworking things as I gain perspective and clarification.
Everywhere I look are gifts and I especially love reflections of all kinds.
